Eleven years ago yesterday I was in the Western Infirmary having a kidney transplant. The kidney was donated by my Mum, not once did she question her decision to donate. It completely changed my life. Before the operation I was on dialysis for about 1 or 2 years. I was really ill and not able to do much. The transplant changed all that. It’s a mixed day this year knowing its failing. Its really good that its still working though. Here’s hoping it keeps going for a lot longer! Thanks mum. :D
